Hello, I am Megan I’m 18 and live In Cardiff. The opportunities that I have as a music technologist or musician are in Live Sound either touring or venues; Stage Management Touring or Venue. This leads to the skills that I have being in knowing the set-up of both live Sound in theatres and live music. The reason for wanting. To go into live sound is that I would always be on the move and with the variety of venues it would allow me to use problem solving. My short-term goals are to apply for an apprenticeship or job in live events so I can develop my skills. My medium-term goal is to have a place at a job or apprenticeship so I can have experience in live sound. My long-term goal is to have a portfolio of many different jobs in live events. Under normal circumstances my short-term goals would be working in a venue being either paid or unpaid or be at university. My medium-term goals is to have a paid job in live events. And finally, my Long-term goal would be to have a portfolio of more jobs paid or unpaid. The Skills that I I need to develop include working with other people to be able to get the outcome that I would like to have. There way that I am going to develop these skills are by working in a collaborative group that is putting on a show for local artists and producers.
Live Sound
What am I doing for my Personal Music Project?
Introduction
Because of Covid-19 I have had to change my project. I will be creating a Video Podcast based on live events. The Podcast will include some points of view from people who are working in the live events industry. For the video part I will include some data that I have created and a power point slide show to keep the attention of others.
My Target Market is for employers, professionals (who are much better than I am) and the general public. This is to show how much work we do as a small group of people when putting on a show.
My unique selling point is that the research that I will be finding will be recent and have some peoples own opinions with the current situation.
I don’t plan on making money, this is because I am doing this all on a shorter deadline than expecting.
The success of the project would be amazing. It would show that I am capable of doing a research project and not just the practical side to the music industry.
The limitations would be that I would run out of time. I don’t plan on running out of time.
